Sawtry

The village of Sawtry is located midway between Huntingdon and Peterborough, with good access to the A1 trunk road.

The current population of Sawtry is between 5,500 and 6,000 people, a large proportion of whom work outside the village, some commuting to London because of the direct rail line from Huntingdon to Kings Cross.

The village has a shopping precinct with a hairdressers, newsagents, mini-markets, DIY shop, Veterinary Surgery and the local Chinese take-away/fish and chip shop. Education is well covered by infant and junior schools, and a Community College which teaches up to and including A level students. An indoor swimming pool is located in the Sports Centre within the College grounds.

A private Dental Practise also exists in the village as well as a Doctors Surgery with more than one resident doctor.

For those who do not drive there is an hourly bus service from the village to both Huntingdon and Peterborough.
