Thomas Morris Sponsorship - Fringe in the Fen Combines Great Music with a Great Cause
14 March 2011
Cambridgeshire’s newest music and arts festival, Fringe in the Fen is taking place in a range of eclectic locations in Fenstanton village from 9-16 July 2011. However unlike many other festivals Fringe in the Fen is unique in its ambition to raise over £30,000 for Macmillan in their centenary year. Thanks to generous sponsorship from over 14 companies including Thomas Morris, sponsor of the Family Fringe Day on 9 July 2011, festival-goers can be confident that all the money raised from ticket sales will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The brainchild of local residents Lynda Symonds and Nigel Ferrier, Fringe in the Fen has inspired the community with everyone from the local school children to Dairy Crest employees playing a part. Lynda Symonds said:
“Whilst working on the programme for Fringe in the Fen, I have been amazed at the level of professionalism of the many local musicians that we have brought together to help raise money for the excellent work carried out by Macmillan. Whether it be classical, choral, folk, jazz, indie, soul, blues or big band swing, there’s definitely something to rock your boat!! I’m spoilt for choice as I’m sure you will be!”
Kevin Thomas, partner of Thomas Morris said:
“Thomas Morris are proud to support the excellent work carried out by Macmillan, particularly in light of several recent personal experiences of some of the partners of the business. The work Macmillan carries out is immensely appreciated by those individuals within Thomas Morris as well as the wider community. Thank you!"
