Bella's Wish Is Coming True!
You may remember that last year we shared a story about an incredible local girl called Bella who had a very simple wish - to walk!
Bella was born with Spastic Diplegia – a form of Cerebral Palsy. We were delighted to offer our support to Bella and her family and thought you would be interested in hearing how she’s getting on…
Well it’s good news!
We understand from Bella’s mum Natalie that 7 weeks ago Bella underwent surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital and it all appears to have gone better than expected
‘‘They said it would take about 6 months for Bella to get back to pre-surgery strength’ explained Natalie ‘but she was back within two weeks and this week she took her first independent steps!’.
Seven year old Bella is clearly a very determined young lady who still has a very long way to go, but her progress has been truly amazing.
Natalie explained she began to really believe that Bella might achieve her dream back in July last year when, after weeks of her daughter doubting herself and saying that she couldn’t do anything, Bella said…
‘I can do this!’
Well she certainly can, and to prove it here’s a video of Bella walking on a treadmill.

To show your support for Bella and her family please feel free to share this incredible and inspiring story.
We wish Bella and her family all the best for the future and hope to update you as her story progresses.
